Series circuit

A series circuit is an electrical circuit where all the components are connected in a single path, one after the other, with no branches. The current that flows through the circuit is the same throughout, but the voltage drop across each component is different.

Here are some characteristics of a series circuit:

    • Current: The current is the same throughout the circuit.
    • Voltage: The source voltage is equal to the sum of the voltage drops across each component. The voltage drop across a resistor is directly proportional to the size of the resistor.
  • Resistance: The total resistance of the circuit is equal to the sum of the individual resistances.
  • Circuit break: If the circuit is broken at any point, no current will flow.
