Anemometer Model (Manual)

Anemometers measure wind speed and direction using a variety of methods, including:

    • Mechanical anemometers
These anemometers use cups or a propeller attached to a wheel to measure wind speed. The cups or propeller rotate as the wind blows, and the number of rotations is counted to calculate wind speed.

    • Sonic anemometers
These anemometers use sound waves to measure wind speed and direction. They have no moving parts and are often used in aircraft and scientific wind turbines.

  • Digital anemometers
These anemometers measure wind speed, velocity, and direction by converting mechanical energy into electrical energy.

Anemometers are used in many applications, including:
  • Measuring airflow in air conditioners and ventilation units
  • Measuring gas flow in turbulent atmospheric conditions
  • Measuring wind velocity and direction in airspace travel
  • Measuring wind pressure and direction in weather stations
